Only few days away from the last day of class and I already feel that I am going to miss it because of all the academic writing I learned while learning something new as well. When I first sign up for the class I had no choice but to take this one which is an hour away from my house. I wanted to find another class closer to my house but the fact that was about blogging got my attention and I immediately stop looking for other English class at a closer location. Now that we are in the last week of the semester, I am very glad I stayed in this class because I got to experience a new way of learning academic writing by using blogs.
The topic I choose was fantasy football game and by creating a blog I gain a great knowledge about how fantasy football game works. Therefore, thanks to this class I can say that I am ready to play next season. I am very excited because I also found out that by playing fantasy football I will enjoy more watching the real NFL games. Moreover, I learned important information that I will be using for my analysis paper from other blogging communities like ESPN, YAHOO, and NFL. Furthermore, I had a hard time finding new topics for fantasy football game at the end of the semester but thanks to other blogging communities and friends I was able to come up with more interesting and helpful entries.
This class was a challenging class because it was a new way of learning and also far away from my house. Even thought I had few problems on getting to class, I am very glad I never gave up and I am still working hard to finish what I started and who knows maybe keep blogging.

Even though there are three games left in the NFL regular season, fantasy leagues playoffs will have already begun or will begin this Thursday. The regular fantasy season is much like the fantasy playoffs, but there are a few minor things a fantasy owner must be aware of. There are also a set of guidelines to determine who enters the fantasy playoffs that are different from the NFL’s method of determining who gets into the playoffs.
Fantasy playoffs usually involve 4-8 of the highest ranking teams in the league. Fantasy teams are ranked by the highest of wins and if any teams have tieing win-loss records their playoff placing will be determined by the amount of fantasy points earned by a team. As shown on the ESPN website, leagues can use different methods to pick which teams will enter the playoff race and various playoff schedules used in different league styles.
Moreover, during the playoffs once the team loses once they are out. The playoffs schedule is decided by the ranking of the team. For instance, the first rank team plays the last rank team to enter the playoffs. Depending on the league, it’s usually the 4th, 6th, or 8th rank team. The second ranked team plays the second to last ranked team and so on and so forth. Therefore, having a better regular season record will benefit the fantasy owner because they play the poorer teams in the league. Further adjustments in the individuals’ team can also result from extenuating factors.
Although, the point system is the same in playoffs as in the regular season there are few things to look out for during this late season play. NFL teams that have already guaranteed a slot in the real NFL playoffs will sometimes not start or limit the playing time of some of their star players. For instance, a team like the Saints from New Orland’s who will most likely have a guaranteed high spot in the playoffs will not risk starting their start quarterback for fear that they could get injure during the game that has no importance or influence on their season’s future. Therefore, it is important to research which teams have a guaranteed playoff spot and whether any of your starters will be affected by benching in order to save then for the real NFL playoffs. But be aware some teams such as the Saints and the Colts may start their stars in pursuit of a perfect regular season record.
Overall, the playoffs is the most important part for fantasy football owners because it is what determines the winner. During this time owners have to keep their eyes open because there are different ways to pick up teams for the playoffs. Moreover, owners must know how the schedule is set up in their league and also what things to look up for in fantasy team management during the later season.

Waivers and rules
“Waivers are the process by which owners can select from the pool of available players who are not on a team's roster in the league.”(ESPN)
In fantasy Football game everyone starts with about 15 players, however these are not the player that the owner will have for the whole season. What happens during each week is that owners are able to pick up new players and also drop players. Moreover, all the players dropped from a team’s roster are immediately placed on waivers. During the waiver period, anyone in the league can claim the player. For Instance, there might be a wide receiver that comes out of nowhere, or a running back has an injury and luckily a new running back has started. For this reason you are going to pick up players off of waivers. Unfortunately, many leagues have different rules, therefore, not everyone get the player they want.
There are some fantasy football leagues that will let the owner pick up players all the time. For instance, one of the leagues is the standard league waiver. In this league, if there are several claims for a player then the player is awarded to the team with the best waiver positions. For instance, each week there are player that are very popular, so there will be many teams that will put their claims on a particular player. Furthermore, another fantasy football league is the customizable league waivers which allow managers to adjust the waivers. As you can see both leagues have different rules and settings.
Overall, waivers are use to provide an equal opportunity for all owners to add players to their rosters. Waiver rules may vary depending on the type of league. Moreover, requests for players that are on waivers are not executed immediately and this are put on pending status for a period of time until an owner is finally awarded.

Other blogs

During football season owners try to encounter as much information as they can about their players, therefore, sometimes fantasy football blogs are an option. There many of blogs out there in the Internet but I am only going to use two for now. The one I like the most is ESPN Fantasy Football blog and the second one is Yahoo Fantasy Blog.
ESPN Fantasy Football blog caught my attention because this blog concentrate only about fantasy football. Most of the entries are written by Christopher Harris and most of the time he writes about a particular football player. Harris also gives several advices by week and, go over all the games. This blog is very organized because on one side of the page have all the recent entries where you can have access right away if it gets your attention. Therefore, I considered this blog to have a great content that will benefit people and also well organized to find entries quickly.

Moreover, Yahoo fantasy blog share very helpful information to people but unfortunately it is combined with basketball information as well. This blog is written by Brad Evans and Andy Behrens. They usually write about important games, football players and who to pick each week. Even though, Yahoo fantasy blog offers good content, the blog is not very organized because it does not show all the recent entries. Therefore, if someone wants to find an entry it might take a couple of minutes but it will be worth it.
Overall, there are thousands of fantasy football blogs in the Internet but only a few can meet your needs. ESPN Fantasy football blog is the one I recommend the most to all the fantasy football fans because of its content, organization, and styles. On the other hand, I also recommend Yahoo fantasy blog only because of its content because the organization is not too good. Therefore, I will be using this two blogs for my analysis paper only because of its great content.
